Rio Tinto on High Performing Teams Program

Posted on January 7th, 2019

Rio Tinto’s Dampier Salt leadership team are aiming to be the highest performing team within the huge company, and beyond.

Since January 2019, the team has embarked on a series of education sessions and group workshops to unpack and implement a sustainable high performance system. In conjunction with their unfolding 2019-2022 Strategic plan, the team has also developed a unique execution system to drive a winning culture within their business. Team members now know what winning looks like and whether, at any point in time, they are winning.

A significant amount of work has been undertaken with the team to assist with clarification and prioritization of tasks. In an increasingly complicated world team members know understand the importance of executing fewer tasks with brilliance.

The newly formed leadership team has also worked hard on strengthening cohesion and chemistry within their team, two key components of high performing teams. Individuals within the team are receiving regular one on one coaching to assist with their own leadership and high performance skills.

While the journey to true high performance has only just started with this team, the immediate results have been incredibly positive.
